Nancy O'Dell's initial work in the industry of broadcast was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She worked later as a morning news anchor at WCBD TV and was the crime reporter. While in Charleston O'Dell's stories on the lenient police approach to DUI cases resulted in an State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to states authorities again releasing an even more strict directive on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell has worked at Charleston working as a journalist and co-anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station before moving into Access Hollywood where she is an anchor and reporter during weekends. In addition, she serves as co-anchor for Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards.
